Senior Database Developer

Kewill is currently looking for an experienced Senior Database Developer to join our Development team. Responsibilities will include:
- Designs database to support new functionality
- Evaluates, designs, implements and maintains database applications.
- Translates requirements of a product or complex system into a new database schema design
- Implements stored procedures, views, indices and triggers to ensure good performance and assists developers in writing effective Sql queries
- Estimates complex tasks and meet schedules
- Solves highly complex or unusual problems
- Creates a process to ensure high quality and efficient maintenance of databases
- Maintains Kewill's hosted systems databases and troubleshoots when necessary
Required Skills/Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience of database development with software development
- Experience with Oracle and Sql Server databases
- Successful experience solving highly complex or unusual problems as well as translating requirements of a product or complex system into a new database schema design
- Ability to create a process to ensure high quality and efficient maintenance of databases
- Ability to implement stored procedures, views, indices and triggers to ensure good performance and assist developers in writing effective Sql queries
- Successful experience as a leader and/or role model for other team members. Able to use this experience to mentor other team members and foster team cohesion and overall team effectiveness and productivity
- Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers and managers via documentation, telephone, and e-mail, etc.
- Ability to learn quickly and to prioritize and multi-task in a high-pressure situation. Must be able to manage stress and keep focus in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to thrive in a team environment
This position will be based initially in Marlborough, MA; it will be based in the Chelmsford/Westford, MA area when we move to our new facility towards the end of 2008.
