Kewill enables Highway Insurance to move to a common communication platform

30 May 2008

GUILDFORD, UK – Kewill (LSE: KWL) a leading provider of global solutions for the dynamic supply network, today announces a multi-year contract with Highway Insurance (Highway) - a personal lines insurer committed to providing technical and service excellence. Distributing its products exclusively through the intermediary channel, Highway has more than 650,000 customers, representing total premium income of £260 million in 2008.

Highway launched the project to implement a streamlined electronic communication platform using Kewill InsuranceXchange (KIX) due to experiencing a series of difficulties when communicating with its business partners. Using its existing systems, the company found there was a lack of system to system visibility and therefore a lack of management information which was crucial to its business efficiency objectives. In addition multiple hours were being spent re-keying.

KIX is now set to collect, transform and deliver data in a format that can be received regardless of what back office systems are being used by Highway’s business partners.

Stuart Cantwell, Head of Underwriting Services at Highway Insurance adds:

“Kewill was recommended to Highway as having extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and the complexity of its communication requirements.  KIX has already assisted in improving our processes and delivered a more efficient way to communicate with our business partners, removing some of the challenges we previously faced.”

Debbie Baker, Insurance Unit Director, Kewill said:

“The system Highway now has in place is scalable, flexible and provides a future proof solution to accommodate the company’s goals.”
