• Assign one or more Tariff Classifications to a Part, Item or Style Number.
• Derive accurate value, of a Part/Item/Style, for Customs purposes, by recording adjustments to value, such as royalties, license fees, the cost of assists, and non-dutiable charges.
• Document decisions made regarding eligibility for Preferential Duty Rates / Tariff Treatments
• Note Other Government Agency (OGA) / Department (OGD) requirements
• Record applicability of Binding / Advanced Rulings.
Core Features:
• Receives EDI Messages containing Commercial Invoices and/or Advance Shipping Notices.
• Automatically Rates the Commercial Invoices and prepares a Pro-Forma Customs Entry that can be sent to the Customs Broker or brokerage system.
• If a Commercial Invoice cannot be completely rated, it is queued so one/more users can complete the rating and update the Parts Classification database, as well as update the shipment.
• Provides detailed history file for support in the event of a Customs/Internal Audit. The database contains the history of changes to a Part/Item/Style Number, Rated Commercial Invoices and the Entry Summary (Customs form 7501), submitted by the Customs Broker.
• Can be integrated with corporate ERP system(s) to save data entry time and ensure that all parts are uniform.
• Updates to the Parts Classification data can be achieved by one/more of the following methods to ensure synchronization with the main company inventory files:- EDI interfaces, in a variety of formats, from your internal (ERP) systems.
- Easy-to-use web pages with secure access by authorized users.• Electronic updates of Tariff related information (from CBP and CCRA).
• Commercial Invoices or Advance Shipment Notices can be process by the application, using the Parts Classification database, resulting in the creation of a Pro-Forma Customs Entry, that can be sent to the Customs Broker or brokerage system as an EDI message, FAX and/or Email. The Pro-Forma Customs Entry instructs your Customs Broker what to file with the Customs authorities.
• There are various levels of validations that enable the user to determine if there are any rating errors and/or warnings. These errors are then queued for work by authorized users.
• The completed Entry Summary can be received from your Customs Broker, via an EDI connection. The application will then compare the Pro-Forma Customs Entry with the Entry Summary accepted by the Customs authorities, and report any differences between the two.
• An automated method of making wholesale replacements of Expired/Changed Tariff Numbers (across hundreds or thousands of Part Numbers).
